I have chosen to analyse the animation of the movie inside out because I am very familiar with the movie and I really enjoy its colourful nature and warm story telling.
Having the chance analyse this movie from a critical point of view is defiantly beneficial to me personally as cute and colourful characters are something I really enjoy designing.

At the first scene we see our main character Riley. Staged at the very centre of each camera shot.
In these two shots we see the parents preparing a meal for their child. The first thing that caught my attention regarding this scene is the lighting it is bright and colourful perhaps signify a joyful family time together.

The second thing I noticed is not only is Riley in the centre of both of her parents you can also see that their eyes are slightly pointed down towards their daughter this clearly indicating that she is their main focus right now as they try to feed her.

Within the next shot we are taken into Rileys mind and we get a glimpse at the emotions that live inside of her mind.
The character that is front and centre is Joy. Joy takes up most of the responsibility as leader of the emotions group. We can even see this as she is placed right in the middle of the shot almost mirroring Riley as she takes centre stage.

As the father spoon feeds Riley, we get a two view points from this angle.
We get to see from Riley’s Perspective her father her food and we also get a over the shoulder shot of Joy and other two emotions also watching through Riley’s eyes.

As the viewer I feel like our eyes are also instantly drawn to the broccoli as well.
Even though we have several others objects that are also green in this scene such as.
Joys Dress, the background walls and the fathers shirt.

The Broccoli is the centre of the screen but not only that they used a lense blur effect on top of this scene to block any distractions.

The emotion that is next introduced to us is Disgust.
Her introduction to the audience clearly gives away what kind of character she is from her demeanour.
She very rudely pushes herself into the centre stage taking control of the situation and controlling Riley.

In this scene we also see the use of the animation technique squash and stretch as we see Digust neck stretch ujpwards as she shrieks at the brollic.
It wasn’t nessarcy for them to animate her in this manner but this exaggeration in her reaction but the character a lot more fun and really gets across her disdain for the food in front of them.

The next scene to followed we see the baby tossing the food at her father.
As the scene takes place we see mid shot of the two characters as the father is the parent directly interaciting with Riley.

I think these used a mid shot for this scene is because we it allows to focus on the father encourage Riley to eat her Veggies.
The plate of vegetables is used as a prop for this scene as we see both characters interacting with it.
Riley slapping the plate in the air and her father getting his by the broclli.

I feel that this scene goes by rather quickly but due to the staging of the previous scene the audience are still able to see what is taking placing.
